I have a few shout-outs that are waterfowling related. First would be Yamaha outboards. My last one finally had to be retired after 26 years.
I am not a user friendly owner. Maintenance is not a strong point. Yet. Despite me and the harsh environment that is NC Outer Banks, these rascals get you where you gotta get to.
Rain, salt spray, freezing temps, blazing heat… none of that matters. Been counting on them for a bunch of decades.
Radcliffe Marine. They’re in Belhaven, NC. Did me right (!) on a spanking new 90 HP. No waiting and in stock.
Also a shout-out to me…and a piece of advice for the world… your credit standing matters!!! Going in to the purchase, my credit score of 848 made everything else so much simpler.
And. Remember this name. Jeff Wells. Marine mechanic in Manteo,NC. Will come to you if necessary but has a first rate work space as well. Very nice person. Don’t think he would even know how to be dishonest. Business name is Wells Marine. Look him up if you want things done the right way.
And lastly. Call and book a day or a few during Nov this year. I got guides looking to work who have equipment to pay for and fowl that need shootin’…
Waterfowling example of glee: you found the charging plug for your waterproof portable spot light… and the light is taking the charge
Waterfowling woe: grab your insulated/breathable high dollar waders, from the exact spot where you dropped them on the last day of the season last year to work on duck blinds. Put em on to have at the blind… and they leak
Glee: your retriever… no matter what manner of stupid they may be experiencing at the moment
